Journey continues...........

Day 2 - 24 April 2009

After 16 hours of journey by the train, we reached Hua Hin, Thailand around 7am.
Hua Hin situated in the southern of Bangkok. It's a beach tourist spot like other well know such as Phuket, Koh Samui, Pattaya. It can reach by either by land transport or by air Thai Airways.

We took some pictures from the train station because in fact this railway station known as the most beautiful train station in Thailand. Haha. Anyway, we are not in hurry but just bit hungry. Then, we walked to Hua Hin main town which is just 500m nearby. Walked around the morning market and shops. Lots people in the early morning.

Then, we walked towards beach area to find our accomodations. Since still early, many shops still closed near the beach area. We walked until Hilton hotel area. After checking few rooms, finally we choose a budget guesthouse which just next to Hilton hotel and near beach as well. quite reasonable and clean guesthouse. 900 baht per night. The 1st thing, I did is shower. Hahaha. Since it is so impossible to take shower in the train as it is so small.

After some rest, we walked to town again, to eat. OK, the lost in translation process began. We found difficulty in ordering food at the roadside stalls. Haha. No menu somemore. So, saw the rice and just point to the rice with some hand gestures telling them 'I want fried rice'. Haha. Luckily they understood. Haha. After ate, we walked nearby temple and a shopping mall. We were laughing, as we saw the shopping mall because we expected a bigger shopping mall as it stated in the map.

The day is getting hotter in Hua Hin, we planned to go our 1st trip location which is Klai-Kangwon Palace. A palace built from previous Thai King for holiday in Hua Hin. So we took a motorbike. 3 guys one motorbike. Reach by 5 minutes. Bad lucks hit us again. No entrance to the palace. Wtf, can't go in, then why they put as tourist spot in the map. The bike driver spoke in Thai with the young security guard, tried to persuade him to let us in for a while. Failed.

With dissapointment, we asked him to bring us to our second target location Khao Takiab. A viewpoint. Along the way, we saw a lot of resorts built next to the beach. It took about 15minutes to reach there. He charged us 200 bath altogether. Kena con liao. So expensive. 2 bad luck hit us. The bike can't go up. Not enough power. He stopped us below. We walked up and it is damn hot by that time. The sun started to BBQ my skin.

We spent some 30 minutes relax on top temple and nearby they are building new Chinese temple plus God statues. Seems that there are Chinese population in Hua Hin. And along the way, we saw lots lots of monkeys... reminds me of Uluwatu in Bali....haha...After that, we got ourselves some cold refreshments and again, we walked down the hill. From there we saw a fishing village and a giant Buddha statues.

Around 1.00pm approaching, skin burned; hungry, we walked until a public bus station. We took the open air bus to Market Village, a lot bigger mall than Hua Hin Shopping Mall. We saw it, went way to Khao Takiab. It only cost 20 baht per person when we took the open air bus. Damn. Don't take motobike in Hua Hin.

Market Village, yea. a big mall with shopping choices and also a Tesco + cinema too. We are damn happy because is cooler inside. HaHa. We took our lunch in a Japanese restaurant and it is quite nice. Then we bought something in Tesco before we took public bus back to town again. 20 baht...Reach hostel around 2.30pm

We took some rest before we go out again around 5pm. 1st, we taught go to swim at the beach but later we changed our mind, we went for massage. We did walked along the beach before go massage. The beach here is very long and crowded as well reminds me of Patong beach in Phuket.

Again, we did something stupid again. We walked walked to find a cheap massage+shower spa towards Market Village direction. Most of the shops offered massage but we are looking for spa as well. Haha. Then we came accross a shop offered body massage 150 baht per hour. It is cheapest because normal we saw one around 200-250baht per hour. Suddenly middle of no where I saw a very pretty girl in the shop. Then when the lady came out and say 'Hi'. Oh Ok, lets go. I'm sure you know why. Haha.

Then, we walked walked again until we reached a big massage center + spa shower.

Prices are reasonable. Then we planned to take the herbal shower. Suddenly they asked ' Couple? OMG. No pls. Haha. I need private room. After some hot herbal shower, we went to massage. I took a Thai Massage for one hour. Great massage by a Thai aunty. Scratched my body there and here.

After massage, we went back to nearby our hostel place for dinner. As our guesthouse near beach, a lot of seaside seafood restaurant. Hmmm.. we did see some. But quite expensive.

Lastly we went for cheaper one. Had some curry, prawn, fish, beer, vege. Damage: 900 baht.

There is a night market in the town. But we are very lazy to walk liao. Instead, we walked to the bar lane which is actually situated near our guesthouse. Lots bar, lots bar girls calling us as we passed by. But, since we are tired, we just walked back to guesthouse without stopping in any bar for couple of drink as we planned earlier. Both of us tired like hell. We slept.......

The next day we have to wake up early to take bus to Bangkok.......
